What services support SSO?

SSO is new and while growing is not supported by all the services any school might use.

The latest state of SSO support is at http://www.iam.school.nz/overview-for-schools/services-that-are-supported.

There are currently 27 services that work with the NZ School SSO approach, 16 via SAML (one approach) and 11 via OpenID.

Approximately the first eight of the 20 services on the wishlist (also at http://www.iam.school.nz/overview-for-schools/services-that-are-supported) are likely to have SSO support in place before the end of Term 1 2012.

You can request SSO support for any service you wish at http://www.iam.school.nz/community-area/request-service-for-idp. I also encourage you to make your request to the vendor directly (i.e. it might be more effective than leaving this to the Ministry).

What schools are using SSO?

More than 130 NZ schools are already using SSO. Most of these are listed at http://www.iam.school.nz/overview-for-schools/which-schools-are-using-it

Only 18 months ago there were almost none and the target for June 2012 is to have 250. You could be in that group of early adopters and thereby help shape how this in itiative works
